Our Mission
The Catechism program at St. Chavara Mission is rooted in the Syro-Malabar Catholic tradition and seeks to nurture the faith of our children and youth. We aim to form disciples of Christ who live out their faith with understanding, love, and commitment.
Who We Serve
Our program welcomes children from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Each grade level follows a structured curriculum designed to build a strong foundation in Catholic teachings, scripture, sacraments, prayer life, and moral living.
Class Schedule
Catechism classes are held before the Holy Qurbana on designated Sundays each month. Our schedule aligns with the regular Mass calendar, with special sessions or activities held during feast days and seasonal celebrations.
Faith in Action
Our catechism program includes:
Classroom Learning led by trained, faith-filled teachers
Annual Exams & Assessments to track spiritual and academic growth
Faith Formation Activities such as retreats, confession preparation, and community service
Cultural and Liturgical Involvement through events, skits, and participation in Mass
Parental Involvement
We believe faith formation begins at home. Parents are encouraged to be active partners by reinforcing teachings, praying as a family, and volunteering in the program.
